Who we are

Orleans County Citizen Advocacy (DBA ConnectABILITIES) has been building one-to-one volunteer relationships with people with visible and invisible disabilities since 1988. We’ve made over 100 matches—often lasting for years—and our work is centered on friendship, inclusion, and advocacy. As the community changes, we’re evolving too: expanding beyond traditional matches to create more ways for people of differing abilities to connect through shared activities and meaningful relationships.

What we do

We support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by building connections that last. We recruit and support volunteer advocates for one-to-one relationships rooted in friendship and mentorship, and we’re expanding beyond traditional matches to offer more ways to connect through shared activities and community participation. Case management and advocacy for our community members Above all, we help ensure people are included, respected, supported, and heard.
